Hi, I’m James a second generation joiner. I started Dead Shed Joinery in 2015 after spending 16 years in the industry honing my skills. The business grew and developed and soon it was necessary to establish a workshop which enables me to produce high quality, reassuringly priced, garden buildings.

From my initial visit and consultation, to design, construction and final fitting - I do it all.

I don’t compromise on quality, from a 7’ x 5’ tool shed to a 20’ fully insulated and double glazed summerhouse, they are all built with the same care and attention.
I build them using a 3 layered construction technique: 6mm plywood fixed to 64mm stud work - waterproof breathable membrane - then t&g weatherboard. The floor is 18mm t&g floorboards. The roof is also 18mm thick and covered (dependant on design) with bitumen felt shingles or Firestone RubberCover EPDM membrane. All doors and windows are made by myself (not bought in). The doors are secured with either a 5 lever lock or a Gatemate longthrow lock.
Any finishing treatment is your decision, such as solvent based wood stain, water based garden colours, or high end paints.
